Forgetting the miscellaneous items
When reviewing and comparing price quotes one needs to consider the miscellaneous items. They can quickly add up! Some POS companies will include everything and others will leave certain items out of their quote. A list of items that should be considered include: training fees, support fees, software update/maintenance fees, data conversion fees and all hardware needed for the program to function.
Failing to do the proper “homework”
Many retailers overlook important features available with Point of Sale software that would provide time saving and profit promoting characteristics specific for their industry. To avoid this mistake, it is critical that the needs of the business be properly analyzed (even if it is a small business). A list of important features should be made and those needs prioritized. This list can then be used to compare and choose the right system. |
